On August 13 2019 the evening plans of many first responders changed. Our entire department responded to a working barn fire located on Crooked Road in East Hanover Township. At arrival our Engine crew set up portable ponds to supply water to other apparatus. Our Tankers dumped several thousands of gallons of water none stop for 6 hours to fight the blaze. The QRS was on scene with rehab supplies for the hot muggy evening.
The barn was fully stocked with hay for the animals which was a total loss. The adjacent barns and silos were saved from the fast suppression crews provided, all the animals were removed from the farmer during our arrival.
